Dear Armatage Families,

Welcome back to the 2018- 2019 school year.  I hope you have had a fantastic summer and are ready to return.  After a long summer of construction, we are ready to have the kids return to a new and improved, air-conditioned school!

Over the summer, there were several staffing changes.  Fortunately, some involve changes of position within the building. The following changes are:

Assistant Principal-Carey Seeley

Secretary- Mary MacRae Nurse- Michelle Knapp H.S.A.-Lisa Skeleton

Armatage Mpls. Kids Director-Tesia Kubat

Band Director- Mary Becker

3rd grade- Tina Swift

Mdia A.E.- Nancy Dobbratz

Welcome to all our new staff and returning staff members!

As of today, (August 15th), the ducting is still being installed in some classrooms, the hallway lights need to be installed, the art & music rooms  and  the  landscaping  in front  of the  building need  to  be completed.  We are down to the wire.  It sounds overwhelming, but rest assured, the contractor has promised me that "substantial completion" will be done by August 20th.

Included with this letter is your child/ren's supply lists. In addition to the lists, we are asking for a voluntarv $10.00 donation for each child or a maximum of $20.00 per family to help supplement the supply budget.   If you send a check, please make it out Armatage Montessori School. You may either give it to your child's teacher or drop it off in the office.

Because of construction, we will not be able to have an Open House in the building prior to school beginning. However, we want you to be able to drop off supplies and meet your child's teacher. Similar to last year, we are asking that you bring your supplies to the big gym located by the Park Board and then join staff on the playground by the old lunchroom for popsicles and a chance to meet your child's teacher. We have scheduled this event from 12:30 p.m.-2:00p.m. on Thursday, August 23rd.

A final note about the website.   I know many folks have gone to look for updated information and it still reflects last year's information.   We have an entire new front office staff (Other than me).  We are working diligently to get things into place as quickly as possible. The placement of students into classrooms is job number one.   We always welcome volunteers who want to help in the building/or with the website.

I look forward to seeing you next Thursday at the Popsicle Social.
