Hello Armatage Families!

My name is Abigail Fischer and I am thrilled to be joining the Armatage community!

I grew up in Edina, Minnesota and attended Edina Public Schools, graduating in 2015. Throughout my highschool years, I actively served my community by volunteering with different youth outreach organizations. I was also able to work as a children's camp counselor at Cathedral of the Pines in Lutsen, Minnesota. This is what sparked my interest and love for education. I attended Gustavus Adolphus College, graduating with my B.A. in Elementary Education in 2018. Since my graduation, I have worked as a kindergarten teacher with Mankato Area Public Schools. I have spent recent summers serving as a staff member at Cathedral of the Pines .I recently moved back to Edina, where I am actively completing Montessori training.

What drew me to Armatage was not only the amazing community, but also the Montessori Curriculum. A passion of mine within education is making my classroom centered around the whole child. By working with hands-on learning materials, my goal is to foster children’s love and passion for learning. I hope to guide students’ throughout their learning by focusing on both their interests and strengths. Kindergarten is such an exciting time for children full of growth both academically and emotionally. I cannot wait to guide students and families through this journey at Armatage!

I know I can say I’m not the only one who is curious to see what the 2020-2021 school year will look like. Regardless of how we begin our year together, I am thrilled to be a part of this marvelous community.

Peace and health to you all! Abigail Fischer
