Application for Educational Benefits
Monday, October 21, 2019 7:30 AM

We still have over 300 families who have not submitted an Application for Educational Benefits form (lunch form).  ALL families must complete this annually.  Forms may be obtained at the Armatage office or online (  Please complete as soon as possible so valuable staff time is not spent making phone calls.  Parents may check a box if they believe their child does not qualify for free or reduced lunch.

These forms determine a school’s level of state (compensatory ed)  and federal (Title I) dollars that are allocated to support students with additional resources.

Questions?  Contact:  Julie Railsback, Armatage School Social Worker at 612-668-3185.

October 2019: Caring for yourself and others

Dear Parents & Guardians, This month our social emotional learning theme is caring for yourself and others. We will be looking for ways that we can care for one another and take care of ourselves. As a family, what do you do to foster caring behaviors? Sometimes we take actions, but don’t name them. Think about having conversations about how you have helped someone or been a caretaker. If you notice this behavior in your child, point this out and encourage this type of behavior. We will be honoring students who go out of their way to care for others at Armatage at our next Student of the Month celebration! Thanks for all that you do to show your child what caring behavior looks, sounds and feels like!

Read our full article here, with suggestions for articles & resources about fostering caring behavior.

Friday, October 11, 2019 8:20 AM

The Family Fun Walk is right around the corner - Saturday, October 12th! This is a family activity for the entire Armatage community. It's forecasted to be a classic Minnesota fall morning, and we look forward to seeing you there!

We will have a pancake breakfast, treats, lap prizes, raffle and a DJ. The PTA appreciates your support. We are currently under a third of the way to our goal of collecting $35,000 for the school.

You can donate online at or send in a check to the school office.

We also need volunteers to make this event a success. Please sign up here to volunteer

For more information about the Family Fun Walk including a timeline of events - click here.

We have many bins of used snow boots in all sizes, as well as new and gently used (and washed) winter hats. These will be available at the Family Fun Walk on Saturday morning. If you have winter gear that your children have outgrown, please bring it and share with others!

There will be a Flu Clinic hosted by MVNA (Minnesota Visiting Nurses Association) with help from the PTA from 8am to noon. Injections are offered to the insured, uninsured, and underinsured children and adults. Children will be covered by MN Vaccines for Children program of the Department of Health and uninsured adults will be covered by a grant. If you do have insurance, please bring your insurance card. This clinic is not only for the Armatage Community, but the community at large. Any questions/concerns please feel free to call Linda Henn at 668-3189 on Friday.

Update to Door #15-Transportation-Tardies
Friday, September 27, 2019 11:45 AM

This year we had to make some modifications to transportation practices at Armatage Montessori School. Below is clarification regarding how to convey information to ensure critical people are notified of changes.

#1. If your child needs to go to Door #15, please call the office the day of this request. Do not email the teachers or office with this request, as the email may not be seen.

#2. If your child attends Mpls. Kids or Rec Plus for example and needs to go home on a bus already assigned to them; please send a note to the classroom teacher.

#3. You do not need to call the office to notify of a pending tardy. Please send your student to the office and they will receive a pass to their classroom.

If you have, any questions regarding Transportation/Door #15/ or Tardies, please contact Mary MacRae, School Secretary at 612-668-3180. Read the full tardy and attendance policy here.
