Essential Care

Available Fall 2020

In alignment with the state’s recommendations and MPS’s plans to start the school year with distance learning, Minneapolis Kids will continue to prioritize child care for Tier I Essential Workers as outlined in the Governor’s Emergency Executive order 20-82.   Beginning on Wednesday, August 12 at 10 am, families who meet Tier I Essential Worker eligibility and need child care during the school day will be able to register for Minneapolis Kids if they have a child enrolled in an MPS school.

Mission Statement: The mission of Minneapolis Kids is to provide high quality school age child care for families. The program offers a safe, nurturing, educational and recreational experience where children are encouraged to pursue interests and develop friendships, independence, and confidence.

Minneapolis Kids sites are accredited by the National School Age Care Alliance or the National Academy of Early Childhood Programs.

Armatage is very fortunate to have a Minneapolis Kids program right on site for the part of the day in which your half-day Kindergartner is not in school as well as for before and after school. The children enjoy a variety of structured and unstructured activities with children of similar and different ages to themselves.
