I grew up just across the border in New Richmond, Wisconsin. I received my B.S. from the University of Wisconsin LaCrosse, then an elementary teaching license from California State University Fullerton, then my Montessori training from the College of St. Catherine, and finally my M.A. in curriculum and instruction from the University of St. Thomas.
Although I have taught all of the elementary grades (except kindergarten), third grade is my favorite! I love to watch the students gain independence and develop a growth mindset during the short time we have together.
I have three grown children of my own, and one granddaughter, Onyx. I love spending time hiking in the many state parks we have. When I’m home, I enjoy gardening, board games and puzzles, reading on the patio, and playing in the yard with Onyx.
