Welcome to Room 110!
Hi! My name is Denise Clare. I have been teaching at Armatage since 2005. I started teaching in the Minneapolis School District in 1994. I have experience teaching Kindergarten through 3rd but have spent most of my teaching years in a multi-age 1st -2nd grade Montessori classroom. I am grateful and proud to be a part of the Armatage school community.
About me…
I grew up in Hutchinson, Kansas. I graduated from Kansas State University with a BA in Elementary Education. I received my Montessori certification from The College of St. Catherine’s in Minneapolis. I received my Masters in Experiential Education from Minnesota State University.
Some of my favorite things about teaching…
I love teaching kids to become responsible, independent learners. I feel passionate about creating a peaceful classroom community that supports each other’s social, emotional and academic learning. I enjoy teaching about the continents of our world, how to care for our planet Earth, the animal kingdom and creative STEM activities.
My family and interests…
I enjoy spending time with my husband Bill, daughter Maddy and our chocolate Lab, Scout. We enjoy finding adventures traveling to national parks and baseball stadiums. Maddy attends the University of St. Thomas and is pursuing a teaching degree in Elementary Education. Scout loves to sniff everything, run and fetch frisbees. I love gardening, spending time with my family in Kansas, reading historical fiction, making new food recipes, and baking sweet yummies!
