Greetings Armatage families,

I'm very excited to become the  Assistant Principal at Armatage Montessori!   I have been very impressed over the years with Armatage's Montessori philosophy, academic success, your beautiful art and the dedicated staff and engaged community.  It will be a pleasure to serve the Armatage community.

I'm coming to Armatage with almost twenty years of experience in education.  I began my career in the Richfield Public Schools as a first-grade teacher and Reading Recovery teacher.  I was so interested in literacy and how this impacts student learning, that I went back to school for my K-12

Reading License.  This experience led me to Seward Montessori to become a literacy coach, working with grades K-5.  This was an amazing job, because I had the opportunity to learn from all different grade levels and become familiar with Montessori philosophy. After that role, I transitioned to an Instructional Specialist at Seward and the IS Lead for the district.  This was an opportunity to learn about all of our schools, PK-12 across the district.  After this role, I moved to the Teaching and Learning Department, where I served as the Elementary Director of Education.

All of these experiences have given me the tools to serve as an instructional leader, and I'm thrilled to have the opportunity to be a part of the Armatage community!  I look forward to serving and getting to know students, staff and families!

When I'm not working for MPS, I am a busy mother of two middle school age children, who attend Richfield Middle School.  Emily is going to be in eighth grade and Jack will be in sixth grade.  They are engaged in lots of sports and after school activities.  We are a busy family; my husband Lou and I like to take walks in the neighborhood and stay active in multiple ways!

My office is in a corner of the media center, surrounded by books, which is perfect as I'm an avid reader and proponent of literacy! I'll be out and about in the school throughout the day and look forward to getting to know your child and all of the families we are so lucky to serve at Armatage Montessori school.                                                                ·
