Volunteer Coordinator

The PTA Volunteer Coordinator serves is an appointed, non-voting PTA board member.  

JOB DESCRIPTION - VOLUNTEER COORDINATOR
Term: Negotiable

  • Attend PTA leadership (usually twice per month) and membership (monthly) meetings. At membership meetings, update attendees on volunteer needs.
  • Help to keep volunteer information to date in PTA database.
  • Forward information from volunteer database to event chairs as needed.
  • Develop and distribute volunteer forms (usually three throughout the year) 
  • Communicate open event chair positions to leadership team. Lead efforts to fill open chair positions.
  • Help interested people learn to leverage Jooners (volunteer sign up) application or set up sign up sheets for chairs.
  • Coordinate mentoring program, along with PTA leadership team. Provide volunteer information and job descriptions to the board member assigned as mentor for each event. 
  • Work with event chairs to make sure job descriptions are updated annually. Hold primary responsibility for keeping current job descriptions on file.
  • Work with communications coordinator to ensure that volunteer needs are publicized on website and in KangaNews.
