Armatage Montessori School Carnival
May 10, 2013, 5:30-8:30pm
It’s that time of year again! Kids, plan to come hungry and ready to have fun! Parents, double your fun by volunteer for a shift at a game, food stand or other fun happening that evening. Here is a quick rundown of the events.
Carnival 101 Flyer
The carnival runs on volunteers! If you'd like to help out, please contact your child's room parent, sign up for a shift online, or send an email to ArmatageVolunteers@gmail.com.
Tickets are required at the carnival for games, inflatables, food, treats, face painting, balloon animals, and more! If you pre-order tickets, they will be delivered via your child’s take-home folder. Pre-sales order forms went home the week of April 24th. Need another form? Download it here. If you have any questions please contact event chairs Mackenzie Doheny or Sabrina Edwards.
There will be plenty of carnival type food (e.g. hot dogs, pizza, etc) available at the event. The carnival committee recommends purchasing at least one Meal Deal (hot dog + side + drink, OR pizza + drink) for every member of the family. Meal Deals are convenient and affordable, and available only through pre-sale. Each meal deal will save you $1 compared to purchasing items separately. Food can also be purchased a la carte on site.
Games and Inflatables
Go directly to the classrooms to participate in a variety of fun games of skill and chance. Use your tickets to play the games, and depending on how you do, collect your chip worth 1, 2 or 3 points. At the end of the evening, chips in hand, go to the prize room (media center) to cash your chips in for prizes. In addition to fun games of skill (and luck) enjoy the inflatable slide, the jump house and the newest attraction, the Bungee Run (see video demo here)!
Used Book Sale and Stuffed Animal Walk
Donated books and gently used stuffed animals can be turned into cherished prizes. Donation boxes for these items will be located just outside classrooms in the weeks leading up to the event. For each book donated, your child will receive credit that he or she can use for select other books at the Carnival. This is a fantastic way to recycle good books (great for the planet!), and a cost effective way to stock up on some new summer reading (great for the wallet!)
Each time you play a game, you will receive a chip worth 1, 2, or 3 points. Make sure to bring something to carry all your chips because they can be redeemed for some awesome prizes in the prize room (just like Chuck e Cheese, but with better prizes!). In the prize room, you will find all sorts of items, from stuff to make your summer fun (pogo sticks, whiffle ball sets, pool inflatables, noodles, water blasters), artsy stuff (Crayola art sets, jewelry making kits) and things to keep you busy with friends (Operation, Monopoly, Jenga, Tech Decks sets) and Twins memorabilia, too! This is just a short list of what will be offered.
